Lets talk S U G A R

I talk a big game on quality ingredients - but what does that even mean?

Well, for one, it means sourcing mindfully. My dream is to mill my own grains, have harvests support my kitchen and share it all with you. For now, Im learning what & how to bring you the highest integrity bakes possible, so I can my that dream come true.  

Which brings me to sugar.

What do you think of when you think "sugar"? Candy? White table sugar? Health issues? Yeah, I used to associate all kinds of crazy things with it. Until I became educated in the process. 

(Before I go further, Id like to point out that too much of anything is not good. Its all about a flexible & balanced diet to stay healthy AND happy.)

White table sugar is ultra refined, with added chemicals. The only nutrients left in it are sucrose and calories. Brown sugar is just table sugar with molasses added back into it, and is typically used for color/texture. 

In my kitchen, you get what I get (and Im bouje - only the best for Mrs. D and her fam).

That is why I only use Unrefined Organic Sugar Cane, which is made up of sucrose, glucose and fructose. You are being serving with 17 amino acids, 11 minerals AND 6 ANTIOXIDANTS per serving.

It is so important to me that my food is honest and guilt free for those enjoying it. You are what you eat - so eat well
